Another nod to my current high desert home and the second painting I've finished of a roadrunner. I love seeing these creatures in the area, they are remarkable. I've been playing with more scenic backgrounds in my paintings of late and really enjoying it.

I've always loved Borzoi dogs. So long and elegant, almost ethereal. I stumbled on the account of a dog photographer in Germany (Paul Croes) and asked if I could use a couple of his beautiful photos as reference for painting and he said yes. This is the first resulting painting. I love him set against the moonlit sky, so dramatic.

This is sweet Rocket the Bulldog. We used to dog-sit when we lived Denver, and loved this precious boy. He had the best personality, loved to snuggle, and just radiated sweetness. In 2016 I got a new camera and practiced taking pics of our canine guests (with permission of course). I had forgotten about them until recently and found the pictures of Rocket.
